At Glenshee, we believe that, like all students, each horse is an individual, and as such, each will learn in different ways and at different rates. With over 10 years of extensive experience in starting and training a variety of horses, our staff will design a personalized training program to suit your horse’s individual needs.

Our methods are broadly based, incorporating elements of classical dressage, traditional equitation and natural horsemanship. Our approach to educating horses is relaxed, progressive and individualized. Educated in Europe and a regular on the "A" circuit, our trainer has produced numerous top quality competition and show horses.

We also specialize in the retraining of spoiled or “problem” horses, as well as those moving on to new careers in other disciplines.

Whatever a horse’s intended career, a proper education is one of the greatest gifts an owner can give. Investment in a horse’s education will not only improve the value of a horse, but more importantly, it will improve the value of the time you spend with your horse.

School of Horsemanship
We realize that people learn to ride for many different reasons. Whether your goal is competition, recreation, or gaining a thorough knowledge of the art of horsemanship, we will design a riding lesson program to suit your individual needs.

We offer riding instruction and coaching from novice though advanced, from pleasure riding through “A” circuit.

Our aim is to provide riders with the necessary skills to realize their goals and a safe, supportive environment where both horse and rider can enjoy the many benefits and pleasures of this wonderful sport.

Halestarr, an imported Dutch Warmblood gelding, has been High Score Champion in the Pre-Greens and Reserve Champion in the Green Working Hunters. He's also been shown successfully in the Amateur Owner and Regular Working Hunters, as well as Amateur and Preliminary Jumpers.

Mission Impossible is a Canadian-bred Trakehner that has won a High Score Award in Adult Amateur Jumpers. He was also shown successfully in Preliminary and Amateur Jumpers.

Because our primary concern is the safety and well being of both rider and horse, students of Glenshee’s School of Horsemanship learn a strong foundation of basics. Developing a secure seat, good hands and effective use of the aids enables our riders to meet most riding situations with security, control and equestrian tact, and provides the basis for all further learning.

Good communication between horse and rider is key in establishing an effective working relationship. Our system is designed to equip riders with the knowledge and skills to pursue their goals and meet challenges with assurance and safety.
